COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ing Chartist Academy was founded three months ago by CEO Christian Tharp, a Dayton native, who also serves as head instructor.
“The rise of options trading has been huge because it allows anyone to participate in the market,” Tharp said.
Tharp has a background as a technical analyst and a certified Chartered Market Technician.
Over the past 15 years, he has trained more than 5,000 students in dozens of countries to trade and invest in the stock market.
“We want to empower individuals to take control of their own money. We want to empower them to tackle the market and believe that it can be done because anyone can,” Tharp said.
Tharp said he sees a lot of interest from high school students and college students in cryptocurrency.
However, he said there is more than enough results for the average investor down the road.
“The facts and the truth are very, very small, only a few actually make that kind of return. But anyone, thousands, millions have been made by trading stocks and or options for years and years and years,” Tharp said.
Columbus native Cassandra White-Graves said she always had an interest in stock trading and she attended classes not only to educate herself but also family members.
“The process of learning how to generate an income is very important for any family. So being able to learn about investing, learning about the stock market and financial responsibility is important,” White-Graves said.
Tharp believes that Bitcoin and Blockchain will stand the test of time, but in reality he thinks that the bear market is now too far away.
And while many are suffering from 401k’s decline, he said for long-term investors they don’t want to go through the agony of checking their portfolios every day.
“The market doesn’t care what you think and it certainly doesn’t care how you feel. So trade what you see, not what you feel or think,” Tharp said.
