Elections, historically have often been questioned about accuracy and transparency and now one of the blockchain -based platforms has made it one of the most secure and reliable platforms for elections to be conducted digitally. Electis, a voting platform that has been used by more than 20,000 voters since its launch, has aligned itself with one of Tezos ’most“ green ”and environmentally friendly blockchain providers.
This may be because Electis is most popular among government agencies and nonprofit organizations that focus on sustainability, climate change and carbon footprint.
Organizations use Electis for democratic voting
Electis has been popular since its inception and is now often used to conduct fair and open-source elections among large party networks. The most recent include the official children’s and youth constituencies of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This nonprofit, part of the United Nations, consists of a global network of children and youth activists as well as youth NGOs, working on climate change policy. Women and Gender Constituency is one of nine official observers for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which has the responsibility of member states to keep temperatures below 1.5 degrees Celsius, while respecting human rights and Women and Gender Issues, has also used Electis.
Electis is based on an app in secure and transparent e-voting, which makes it confidential and verifiable at the heart of its products. This is done using blockchain technology, which is due to the tamperproof architecture from the outside. This makes the process and outcome of voting fair, and because of its digital nature allows voters to participate in votes anywhere in the world.
Electis chose Tezos blockchain to build the application because of its environmentally friendly nature, as well as speed and security of transactions.
