Luxor launches the first-ever ASIC RFQ platform with the goal of maximizing market transparency and access.
Luxor Technologiesa full-stack Bitcoin mining software and services company, has launched the first Request for Quote (RFQ) platform for buying and selling Bitcoin mining hardware.
A press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine explains what the RFQ platform is and states: Luxor’s two-sided RFQ allows both buyers and sellers to create requests for Bitcoin mining ASICs. “
The idea is to make the market for ASICs, dedicated machines specifically built to mine bitcoin, more fluid and easier to use. According to the release, “With an open bidding system, ASIC traders can place requests and negotiate prices directly, resulting in improved price discovery and greater liquidity in the secondary market.”
Prior to this market, ASIC traders have struggled with a fragmented and opaque over-the-counter market. The system theoretically improves market transparency while allowing easier access and more accurate market pricing. ASIC brokers can form the backbone of market makers on their platform and leverage it to increase trade flow and facilitate more trades.
