The All India Technical Education Council (AICTE) has built its own office in the Metaverse, making it the first accreditation body in India.
Polyversity, a metaverse of education, was launched on Monday by Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education of the Government of India and Minister of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship.
Aravind Voruganti, Vice President of Blockchain Practices and Products for Information Data Systems (IDS), spoke on the launch of Polyversity, a virtual university that simulates the existence of multiple academic institutions, including the AICTE campus. A metaverse version of AICTE, a digital environment simulated using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), was released by IDS on Monday.
Voruganti exhibited the Virtual Avatar of the Polyversity, which consists of a shopping center, a sports complex, an auditorium, and a classroom where students can virtually attend lectures.
“AICTE has become the world’s first accreditation body to set up a virtual office in the Metaverse,” he said.

IDS has also launched a Bharat Blockchain Network with over 100 universities and academic partners. According to Voruganti, the goal is not only to improve skills, but also to work closely with academia to run apps and infrastructure as a service and become a Web3.0 partner.
