Meta (formerly known as Facebook) and other VR companies have created virtual worlds (more precisely, a series of virtual worlds) that can do as much as the real world, Comfort (and safety) of your own home. These worlds are called the Metaverse. Nissan is taking advantage of this new world by installing the ARIYA electric vehicle. You can explore the car and see it from different angles and learn about its features. This is all thanks to five different digital artists from five different clean air cities in the UK.
“With the Nissan Electric Lab, new Nissan ARIYA and campaign artists can really get closer to electrifying their artwork,” said Barry Christie, Global Creative Lead at Meta Creative Shop.
For this Metaverse advertising campaign, Nissan has challenged five artists to create new all-electric ARIYA sketches in five unique locations across the UK. These artists included people from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. Artists – Retro Manni (Birmingham), Tishk Barzanji (London), Janice Leung (Leeds), Neil Keating (Liverpool), Antidote (Manchester). All participants were instructed to use their own design style to convey the electrical interpretation that Nissan Ariya is the “light of hope” in their city. The artist incorporated his own personal story into the project, providing a genuine emotional expression of the briefs.
In addition, this installation allows you to explore Nissan’s metaspace experience by scanning the QR code provided. Visitors can go to the landing page of electrified art, where they can start exploring the space. The environment is automatically loaded and the user is instructed how to combine the two power cords to activate the painting portal and explore the electrified city. After that, Nissan ARIYA gets off at the platform in the middle of the room.
“ARIYA’s timeless design and innovation in Japan allows us to influence and explore new ways of communicating with our customers. The first carmaker to take advantage of this immersive and comprehensive metaverse. We are very pleased to be able to promote Nissan as one of the above, said Nick Thomas, Marketing Director of Nissan GB. “This is exploring new ways to bring our electrified brand story to life. It’s the beginning to test, continue to learn, and showcase unique product innovations in an environment that meets the brand value of innovative leadership. “
The marketing campaign will continue for the next two months. ARIYA is currently available for purchase and the first delivery is scheduled for August.
