Microsoft (MSFT) metaverse with both hands.
Microsoft Chief Strategy Officer Henry Bzeih said that as the world moves toward a more digital landscape, a hybrid model is likely to be the future of consumer-business partnerships.
The International Consumer Electronics Show CES 2023, one of the most important technology events of the year, has laid the groundwork for the most important developments at hand.
According to Bzeih, Microsoft’s current priority is mobility cross-functionality that will revolutionize the way customers interact with their shopping platform.
As an illustration, he gave how consumers buy cars today. Instead of going to a local dealership, Bzeih said, users can configure their cars’ colors, features and functions via the metaverse. Pointing to his Fiat 500e on display at Microsoft’s virtual vehicle dealership, he said Microsoft is looking to build cloud-based products and solutions for its clients.
However, obstacles remain, such as bringing Metaverse-enabled vehicles to the US market. Bzeih said the step could be difficult as the independent franchise would have to accommodate his owner’s ideas.
The solution, he said, is a hybrid approach that ensures that the millions of dollars that businesses have invested in physical locations do not evaporate. It makes no sense for them to move away from there and miss the whole experience.
