In September, Block announce its integration with the Aptos blockchain, taking a key step towards achieving its vision of becoming everyone’s entry point to the crypto space.
Blocto is starting to launch the first full-featured digital asset wallet on Aptos, a highly promising layer-1 blockchain that will be a game-changer for decentralized applications and smart contracts. Apt The interest is great for Blocto because it is not only a smart contract platform that promises greater scalability and faster transactions, but also a more focused infrastructure platform built on top of the original Diem blockchain foundation envisioned by Facebook.
Aptos’ promise comes from its reliance on the Rust Move-based programming language. Unlike Solidity, Move handles assets separately as resources – a key difference that will result in better, safer, and fairer dApp performance for all users.
Blocto believes in Aptos’ vision to create the world’s most secure and high-performance blockchain, which aligns with the Blocto team’s goal of blockchain mass adoption. After the Aptos mainnet launch, the company launched a mobile app and a web SDK version of the Aptos wallet, followed by the first NFT airdrop campaign, #LFB, in early November. Within a week of the launch, more than 300k users have claimed free Aptos NFT with Blocto Wallet, benefiting from a smooth and seamless user experience.
The Blocto wallet is the perfect onramp for Aptos as it is laser focused on ensuring a seamless experience for users and developers. Unlike most wallets, users can log into Blocto Wallet using email in less than 10 seconds, starting with a lightweight custodial system for easy onboarding. Then, when they are ready to control their assets, users can switch to a more secure non-custodial system. This is made possible through a key rotation mechanism unique to the Aptos account system. Users also get other benefits. For example, gas costs for initial transactions are subsidized with Blocto Points, meaning users can get started in Aptoverse without having to hold APT tokens in their wallets.
On the experience side, when using a normal web browser, the user will be presented with a pure web interface. All you have to do is enter your email address to get started right away! For apps, this can be opened directly through Blocto’s in-app browser.
So far, Blocto has added a lot of functionality to the Aptos wallet, with NFT, FT and even tAPT all supported. Support for additional tokens is coming soon, but for now it is possible to transfer NFT and FT from directly in the app.
It’s not just users who enjoy a better experience with Blocto. For developers, you can integrate the Blockto SDK or wallet adapter quickly and easily. Additionally, Blocto is included by default in the Hippo wallet adapter, so developers can integrate Blocto just like any other wallet.
Looking forward, Blocto’s plan is to build the most complete and comprehensive wallet experience for the Aptos ecosystem. With the Web SDK complete, the team is now working on the Mobile SDK and expects it to be ready. On the developer side, it’s close to getting UnitySDK for game devs up and running. Once live, game developers will have an easy way to add Web3 functionality such as printing characters, items and equipment to Aptos games. Games built with UnitySDK will be able to interact directly with the Blocto wallet. It goes without saying that Blocto is fully supported on both Android and iOS, meaning it’s an easy process for developers to bring their new games to market audiences.
To encourage developers interested in building dApps and games for Aptos, Blocto plans to host a special workshop, BloctoCamp powered by Aptos, this month. Developers can sign up to learn more about Aptos dApps and the unique capabilities MOVE enables.
Another feature to be rolled out is in-app APT purchases through Moonpay. Also, Blocto will get native APT staking and BLT bridge to Aptos ecosystem.
At the same time, Blocto is working hard to stimulate the development of the ecosystem through recent announcements Bloko Ecosystem Fund for Aptos.
It has set aside an initial $3 million to support the project at Aptos, with a special focus on the challenging “user acquisition” phase. To that end, it provides more than just funding – it provides expertise and assistance to help projects develop communities and access additional investment. In this way, Blocto is very confident that it will help promote the rapid growth that the Aptos ecosystem needs to make its mark. Blocto’s ambition is to grow the Aptos ecosystem by bringing more developers, more games, more NFTs and more projects to Blocto and realizing the full potential of Aptoverse!
