Metaverse infrastructure company Condense has announced a $ 4.5 million seed funding round.
Condense describes it as the world’s first company to deliver live real-world events to the Metaverse. The funding round was led by LocalGlobe, 7% Ventures, and Deeptech Labs. Tom Bromfield, Grace Radha and Ian Hogarth also contributed.
Founded in 2019, the Bristol-based business provides end-to-end capture and streaming technology for live streaming real-world events such as music and sporting events to 3D applications. The company uses state-of-the-art computer vision, machine learning, and a unique streaming infrastructure to capture live 3D video and embed it anywhere. Condense says this means that you can stream a near-realistic experience to a virtual world without the need for a VR headset. The event is live streamed as his 3D “real world” video, so every player’s point of view is unique and dynamic as if it were live at a physical event.
In addition to the funding announcement, condensation is the world’s first Metaverse A studio affiliated with Watershed. It’s the venue for Bristol’s cultural films and creative technology. The idea is to give established and up-and-coming artists access to new 3D livestreaming technologies. The new studio is a “Metaverse First” event space, but it can also accommodate a live audience.
